Anna Ottani Cavina, the first Compagnia di San Paolo Italian Academy Distinguished Visiting Professor
Named to the “Légion d’Honneur” of the French Republic in 2001, Anna Ottani Cavina is also Director of the Fondazione Federico Zeri, Professor at the University of Bologna, and Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University SAIS Bologna Center, and was director of the exhibition "Louvre Paysages d'Italie. Les peintres du plein air" (at the Grand Palais in Paris, 2001). Her 1999 talks in the Italian Academy Lecture Series were published as Geometries of Silence. She is currently the Compagnia di San Paolo / Italian Academy Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Department of Art History at Columbia, the first in a series that brings scholars in the fields of History of Art, Archaeology, and Italian Literature to Columbia.
