Niccolò and the Arca di San Domenico in Bologna: a closer approach

Luisa Ciammitti received her B.A. in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Bologna in 1973. She has since worked as a curator at the Pinacoteca Nazionale-Soprintendenza per i Beni Artistici e Storici di Bologna, Ferrara, Forlì, Rimini, Ravenna, and as a research associate for 18th-century Italian documents in the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, California. She has also been responsible for the organization of two international seminars on Dosso Dossi, in preparation for a monographic exhibition on Dosso. The first seminar was held in Santa Monica (1996), the second one in Trent (1997). The exhibition on Dosso Dossi was shown in Ferrara, at the Palazzo dei Diamanti (1998); in New York, at the Metropolitan Museum; and in Los Angeles, at the Getty Museum. Most recently she served as the Director of the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, Italy (2004-2014).
