The E.R. Lorch Memorial Recital

Columbia University’s Italian Academy for Advanced Studies will present the first annual E.R. Lorch Memorial Recital on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 with a performance by Italian pianist Emanuele Torquati of works by Beethoven, Busoni, Ivan Fedele, Francesco Filidei, Eric Maestri, and Domenico Scarlatti.

The recital honors the late mathematician Edgar R. Lorch, an early supporter of musical events in the Italian Academy’s Teatro and partner of the Academy’s founding director, Professor Emerita Maristella Lorch.

Emanuele Torquati is rapidly gaining international recognition for his poetic and passionate music making, communicative performances and engaging programming.
